Location: North Aurora, IL
Job Title: Part-time Graphic Artist and/or internship
Number of Positions: 1-2
Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, flexible schedule, weekend and evening hours possible.
Pay: $8.50/hr to start. Many opportunities for raises based on quality of work and completion of projects. We're looking for somebody to grow with our business. (If an internship, pay is stipend-based.)

Required: Awesome artwork. Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Must love dogs. We have a small dog (Cavachon), and she loves people.

Education: Formal education is recommended but not required. The most important thing for us is the skill of the artist.

Recommended: InDesign.

Pluses: Flash or ActionScript, ImageMagick, and automated image manipulation.

Description: The main focus of this job will be graphic design (for both your ideas and ours). Your work may also include artwork for advertising campaigns as well. We are also looking for somebody to be in charge of catalog design. Our goal is to have a friendly workplace, so we will try our best to assign you projects that are both fun for you and productive for us. Since we're a small business, you'll also be involved in day to day operations of making products as well. You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement as pertains to our production processes.

We're currently looking for talented computer graphic artists to do work for us and/or sell us work they have previously done. Please email us if you are interested - please DO NOT CALL. In the email, include any links to your work -- an online portfolio, for example. Also mention if there are certain theological issues you prefer working on along with what denomination you belong to. If you have a certain art style, please let us know. NOTE: Although we are hiring all types of artists, we currently do not have a Catholic freelance artist or a Spanish-speaking freelance artist and are interested in those.

What We Need

Quality. If we like your art, we will probably send more work your way.
Sales. If your designs sell well, we will probably send more work your way.
Cost. Generally speaking, we send designs to the artist we think can execute it the best compared to the proposed cost.
Speed. We generally like artists to only be working on one or two designs at a time. If we need something quickly, we usually give it to faster artists.
Reliability. Whether you are slow or fast, if you get things done on time, that is good.
Personality. Sometimes we click with certain artists better than others. These are the ones who tend to want to work for us and also the ones we send work.
Loyalty. Some artists just seem genuinely interested in the success of our company and show loyalty to us in tangible and intangible ways. This is obviously a good trait to have.
Motivatation. If you do not plan on following through with work if we send some your way, please wait until you are more committed before contacting us.
